Polkadoodles Crafting ~ Be a Unicorn

Happy Monday to you all hope you have a good week
The sun has got his hat on here its a lovely day
I am here to share with you a little tag that I made last night
Have you met the little character
Li'l Miss Sugarpops from Polkadoodles
She is totally sweet I'm totes in love
The image I have used today is
~Unicorn~
You can find this and many more in the store
I coloured her up using Graph'It markers and Polychromos using a little white marker for dots on her stars
I used a few of the sentiments mainly because I could not choose which one to use
using again the oxides to match them in and giving each one a little doodle round with black micron pen.
I adored making the background to my tag
Of course I used my new love of Distress Oxides, I also used a stamp down the side I'm so not sure why but it made me think of candy floss (must of been the colour ...maybe)
I felt the background was so pretty it did not need a lot of work so a few droplets of water here and there was all that was needed
Thank you for looking

Ula ~ Polkadoodle Crafting

Well yesterday was the magical day My Granddaughter has broken up from school for summer
which means we get a little visitor to stay
As soon as Felicity was through the door she was straight to her craft desk
Which also means crafting time for Grandma
I am so into making tags at the moment
So that was our play for the day
Felicity made 2 tags for her Mum with stamped cats on and one she drew

and here is mine another Ula make
I just love her attitude
This image is called Ula create and you can find her in the Polkadoodles store right here
The sentiment is from Ula's Life collection

For the background I used Distress Oxide's ~ I'm loving these
I used the leafy stamp from Belle Papillon Collection
and painted it orange
I used Polychromos and Graph'It markers to colour Ula and with some tiny alphabet stamps popped her name on her book.

With the sentiment  printed I dusted round with distress ink and then used a white marker to highlight.
I then doodled round with a micro pen.

Ula ~ Polkadoodles Crafting

What a fab afternoon I had yesterday
I have always wanted to try a bit of mixed media and yesterday I think I managed it
I love the new Ula character from Polkadoodles
I have not managed to play with them all yet so my project was set around

I started out cutting a tag from water colour paper
and then used Distress Oxides broken china and faded jeans spritzed with water and dabbed my tag in
whoooooooo I love this stuff it was just so pretty
Now I felt it needed another dab of something striking
I had vintage photo Distress Oxide in my hand, dare I? dare I? dare I? eeekkkk I did it just a smidge Oh My Days it worked , it actually worked
There was actually no stopping me now
I stamped some seaweed on the background and painted it up
I stamped some tiny bubbles using faded jeans normal distress ink

Printed the sentiment and dabbed the edge again using faded jeans, I also used a white pen to highlight the letters.
I squiggled round the edge of the tag with a micro black pen and also around the little bubbles
The mermaid was coloured using a mixture of Graph'It Markers, Polychromo Pencils and Gelly roll pens

and finally Ula was finished of with some sparkle on her wings and for the shell. Popped her on with foam for some depth.

Polkadoodles Crafting Challenge

Happy Friday Everyone!
Here today for
*Anything Goes*

For my card this week I have used the wonderful clear stamp set
 Christmas Poinsettia/Holly

I stamped the poinsettia twice onto fine grain cartridge paper, I also used the sentiment stamp
I used paints to colour and added extra petals from my second stamp.

I have watched Nikky Hall many times on Create & Craft and when she has almost finished her projects she simply flicks paint over it all to finish always with amazing results.  I have tried but am still ultra nervous at doing so!

Create and Craft TV with Nikky

Hands up if you saw our wonderful Nikky on Create & Craft earlier at 2.00
If you missed the show you can catch up here
AND
Nikky is back on our screens at 7.00 this evening

For my first card that I am showing, I used so many bits and pieces so I hope I don't miss any out

I started off with a brick mask and used modelling paste to create a wall
(first time I have ever used it!)
I used the door die to create the window adding the fence and for the bottom part of the bird house I used the lampost die , this amazing set can be found
For my window
I used the door die
and for the inside a scene image from
and then topped with acetate
I used the lush, lush, lush Birdhouse die, and the leaf stem amazing!!
find those here
I finished off die cutting using one of the pretty flowers
I dabbed about using pearl effects Red, these are a must have for Christmas Crafting.

Then on to my finishing piece awwwww the wee little robin, actually he is not that small in real life , big knickers on I used my shrinkles again I love this stuff!!
The biggest tip I was told when using is....If you use your heat gun to shrink rather than the oven make sure its sitting on a big pile of paper to stop it flying of in different directions!
Now the Robin was'nt on todays show , but he so fitted, so much so I made him twice . He can be found in the Polkadoodles store along with a wonderful  cage and lots more goodies, check them out here. I coloured  using pencils

Little Bird ~ Tag and Card

Ohhhhh squeal what an exciting week, after a few months break  due to moving I re~newed my subscription to my favourite magazine Simply Cards & Papercraft
(I had to cancel so I was not led into temptation to craft lol)
I am now fully crafting again and have so many ideas and new things I want to try.
Now one thing I do love is using shrinkles
( I am very new to this but can see it becoming addictive)
When I saw the freebie's on the mag I immediately grabbed the shrinkles pack!
Talking of freebies........where to start?? Two Die's (bird and wing) ~24 stamps (I counted them twice so I hope I got it right) and then  prima exclusive paper collections , beautiful papers and stunning toppers, I could not wait to start crafting.

I started making the tag first ~ layering up the different papers ,so lush I really did not want to cut them up ! I inked around using distress ink shaded lilac

I used one of the toppers in the center, now here is the fun part
I stamped and die cut the bird onto shrinkles and coloured him in using Polychromo Pencils and then set to work with my heat dryer , I then had the most cutest tiny bird in the world, I stamped the branch , flowers, Love sentiment and his feet using Memento dew drop ink
Die Cut a couple of flowers using another of the papers
and finished of with a few Nuvo jewel drops and a slice of ribbon.

I then set about my card , starting with a 6x6 card blank
I layered up the same papers as the tag
Changing a few ink colours this time I added more stamped detail to the bird and decided to keep him at his original size
Flowers were made the same as before and using two of the stamps * happy bird-day*
