Little Bird ~ Tag and Card

Ohhhhh squeal what an exciting week, after a few months break  due to moving I re~newed my subscription to my favourite magazine Simply Cards & Papercraft
(I had to cancel so I was not led into temptation to craft lol)
I am now fully crafting again and have so many ideas and new things I want to try.
Now one thing I do love is using shrinkles
( I am very new to this but can see it becoming addictive)
When I saw the freebie's on the mag I immediately grabbed the shrinkles pack!
Talking of freebies........where to start?? Two Die's (bird and wing) ~24 stamps (I counted them twice so I hope I got it right) and then  prima exclusive paper collections , beautiful papers and stunning toppers, I could not wait to start crafting.

I started making the tag first ~ layering up the different papers ,so lush I really did not want to cut them up ! I inked around using distress ink shaded lilac

I used one of the toppers in the center, now here is the fun part
I stamped and die cut the bird onto shrinkles and coloured him in using Polychromo Pencils and then set to work with my heat dryer , I then had the most cutest tiny bird in the world, I stamped the branch , flowers, Love sentiment and his feet using Memento dew drop ink
Die Cut a couple of flowers using another of the papers
and finished of with a few Nuvo jewel drops and a slice of ribbon.

I then set about my card , starting with a 6x6 card blank
I layered up the same papers as the tag
Changing a few ink colours this time I added more stamped detail to the bird and decided to keep him at his original size
Flowers were made the same as before and using two of the stamps * happy bird-day*
Thank you for looking

Time for Tea ~Simply Cards & Papercraft

So delighted to see some tags I made in this months magazine ~Simply Cards & Papercraft (issue 159) ~ A snowflake is not just for Christmas - You can see my original post right here

Onto this months Magazine and if you haven't got it you really need it
The Freebies WOW!
Time for tea teacup die and stamp set
Such a beautiful teacup die that cuts so perfectly with ease
and a stamp set containing 19 different stamps!!
I actually did not know where to start, this set could be used for so many occasions.
I decided on the Valentine route , but decided to keep it in pastel shades.
I think I am a little fed up with red after Christmas
So I used a 6 x 6 blank card
Time for Tea die & stamp set
Graph'It Markers
Memento Ink Toffee Crunch

I layered up my base card, and then set to work decorating the top - The teapot has some flowers across it , I masked these of as I wanted the teapot to co-ordinate with the background paper. The teacup was die cut using the same .

The flowers were stamped , coloured in and the decoupaged to give some depth, same as the sweet little macaroon.

Tea-bag stamped and colored
I then stamped the sentiment and stamped the little hearts
Thank you for stopping by today

Let it Snow-Well I Never - Simply Cards & Papercraft

Yepidoodle this time last week was that time of the month ,
the time I start stalking my postie for my delivery of *Simply Cards & Papercraft Magazine*
I adore reading it from front to back, skipping through first off, stroking the freebies and then later a nice long read through
However this month things did not go to plan, I was skipping through and when I got to the readers page , I thought ohhh I made a card very similar to that, rubbed my eyes, looked again that was my card !! Star Letter Ohhhh Wowser I was absolutly chuffed to bits
You can see my original post here
I then had to tell everyone that would listen

Now I love all the freebies that we get but this month's Let it Snow absolutly lush
What did we get ?
The most stunning embossing folder (6 x 4)
The most beautiful snowflake die
A stamp set containing 6 stamps
Now I described last months free gift Santa Claus is Coming to Town as pure magical, could I do it again and use the same description? You bet I could, these adorable little snowflakes, the most beautiful sentiments, If you have not seen the magazine this is a must have.
Soooooo after all the excitement, what did I make?
I decided on a Christmas tag, (I enjoyed making it so much I ended up making three)
I used Memento inks throughout for my stamping and Distress inks for the edges
Main Snowflake cut in coordinating card
Finished them all with some matching ribbons and little gems.
Inks - Toffee Crunch & Black Soot
Inks - Toffee Crunch & Tumble Glass

Inks - Toffee Crunch, Angel Pink & Spun Sugar

Scatty's Top Tip
Before I finish today's post please do not think Snowflakes are just for Christmas , just take a look at the negative from the die! How pretty is that , it would look fab as a mask simply used with some Brusho's or similar - I can see lots of ideas

Home For Christmas

What an absolutly stunning set arrived this month with my Simply Cards & Papercraft.
I adore Christmas and couldn't wait to play
How spoilt were we, embossing folder , stamps and dies!!
To start I used a white A5 centre- stepper card blank.
I covered it in a Christmas red paper leaving a slight border of white showing through.
I die cut the door three times, once in red , twice in white. I wanted the door to stand off the page so used sticky foam tabs to adhere and cut the panels from the red door and adhered with glue

Using Memento ink lady bug I stamped the number, knocker , letterbox and sentiment.
I stamped the lights with Memento black ink and coloured using watercolour paints.
The wreath was again die cut twice to give some depth
The holly leaves were die cut and watercoloured . Once dried I added some ruby red liquid pearls.
I stamped the pots (twice )using Memento gray fog and the plants with Memento bamboo leaf adding again liquid pearls and adhered with foam tabs.
The bows were stamped using lady bug and bamboo leaf dabbed over with glossy accents for shine.
I had tons of fun making this card
And can see a fair few of these being made
Thank you for looking
