Tags ~ Colourific

Happy Colourific Thursday
This week I am sharing with you my Brusho tags
I have used  Stamp Sets
Art of Life (contains 4 stamps)
&
Campervan ~ For Sentiment (contains 22 stamps)

I punched out 3 tags and chose my Brusho colours
do love these backgrounds
I then grabbed my newspaper and stamped flower heads and did a few rips , coloured these with matching Distress Oxides
Stamped the flower onto the tags
Painted up the leafs
I stuck on the newspaper bits leaving a little border so I could colour black for a shadow effect
I stamped on the sentiment
and doodled around the edge of the tags

Using a couple of random stamps I carried on with the background

Love to Create ~ Tag

Happy Sunday to you all
I am happy to be back sharing another mixed media piece with you
This time I have created a tag

I started off with a manilla tag and added some sprinkles of brusho's
I added a spritz of water and then dried with my heat gun

I then used some Distress Oxides and covered my tag, taking out a little colour with some water, dried that off .

I used a brick stencil and randomly placed that around.
Then doodled around the edge

Then my lovely Polkadoodles Stamps came out to play
I have used a mixture of
Doodle Dragonfly Stamp Set
Tall & Spiky Stamp Set
Daisy Friends Stamp Set
I used Ecoline Brush Pens for colour

Let it Snow-Well I Never - Simply Cards & Papercraft

Yepidoodle this time last week was that time of the month ,
the time I start stalking my postie for my delivery of *Simply Cards & Papercraft Magazine*
I adore reading it from front to back, skipping through first off, stroking the freebies and then later a nice long read through
However this month things did not go to plan, I was skipping through and when I got to the readers page , I thought ohhh I made a card very similar to that, rubbed my eyes, looked again that was my card !! Star Letter Ohhhh Wowser I was absolutly chuffed to bits
You can see my original post here
I then had to tell everyone that would listen

Now I love all the freebies that we get but this month's Let it Snow absolutly lush
What did we get ?
The most stunning embossing folder (6 x 4)
The most beautiful snowflake die
A stamp set containing 6 stamps
Now I described last months free gift Santa Claus is Coming to Town as pure magical, could I do it again and use the same description? You bet I could, these adorable little snowflakes, the most beautiful sentiments, If you have not seen the magazine this is a must have.
Soooooo after all the excitement, what did I make?
I decided on a Christmas tag, (I enjoyed making it so much I ended up making three)
I used Memento inks throughout for my stamping and Distress inks for the edges
Main Snowflake cut in coordinating card
Finished them all with some matching ribbons and little gems.
Inks - Toffee Crunch & Black Soot
Inks - Toffee Crunch & Tumble Glass

Inks - Toffee Crunch, Angel Pink & Spun Sugar

Scatty's Top Tip
Before I finish today's post please do not think Snowflakes are just for Christmas , just take a look at the negative from the die! How pretty is that , it would look fab as a mask simply used with some Brusho's or similar - I can see lots of ideas

I had lots of fun making these simple trio of cards. I used two of the lovely stamps from the Daisydays collection The Butterfly and the Sentiment. For my texture I used embossing folders

I made some 6 x 6 card blanks
And a matching cardstock to ink for each
With a different embossing folder per card
Using two dies

For the red card I used Memento Love letter Ink - Ost Red Brusho's and Ruby Red Liquid Pearls

For the Orange card I used Memento
Tangelo - Orange Brusho's and chestnut Liquid Pearls

For the Blue card I used Memento
Bahama Blue - Ultra Marine Brusho's and Royal Blue Liquid Pearls

The Hummingbird Collection

Happy Sunday , It's a little dull here in the South West but very, very humid!
I have Simply Cards & Papercraft delivered each month
and when it was delivered the other day I could not wait to play
What a stunning Hummingbird collection we were well and truly spoilt

I am very afraid of frogs in real life but this little chap was yelling at me to use him
I decided I wanted to use nice fresh colours of green and yellow with white

I started with a 6 x 6 white card blank
Using the freebie embossing folder which is 5 x 5
Cutting a hole in the center
Mounted onto some fresh green cardstock

I added in some bakers twine and adhered all to cardbase

With a slightly smaller die , cut another smaller circle
and then the stamps came into play
I stamped the frog and the sentiment using Memento ink Bamboo Leaves
Using Water paints to colour up
(using blue I flicked about for some effect - not much I'm not that brave!)
I then used the fern stamp around the edge
and attached with foam pads

For the Flowers I stamped them twice, the underneath flowers are painted as are the leafs
For the top flowers I used Brusho's Yellow and lemon
added a few tiny pearls once dry and a little yellow stickles

Finished of with some faux stitching, a few fern leafs from a fern die and a button
Thank you for looking have a great day
xx

Messy Crafting - Polkadoodles

A very Happy Sunday
On my crafty road I have discovered Brusho's, I have dabbled with them in the last few weeks, using them on flowers and such but not on a big scale.
Soooooo here goes...Big Girls knickers pulled up and all that....

I made a trio of cards all trying Brusho's a slightly different way - I most definatly adore them. These are all on watercolour card
For all cards I used a mixture of the Daisydays Stamps and also Summertime Stamps collections. I used Memento Inks.

Card 1
I used Ultra Marine Brusho's and Blue water colour paint on the flowers. I used quick sprays of water on the Brusho's
(You can tell by card 3 I was more adventurous and was'nt bothered about spraying more that a dribble of water)

Card 2
This one I used Scarlet, Lemon and Yellow Ochre Brusho's with slightly more water than above
I used lemon and Orange water colour paints on the flowers

Card 3

This one I used Brusho's Turquoise, Lemon , Orange and Coalt Blue and soaked with water. The yellow circles I did with Pan Pastels . And painted flowers using a dull yellow , a grey and then a grey mixed with white.

Pretty Little Flowers - Birthday Cards

Happy Monday Everyone, those weekends sure do fly past.
I made a couple of cards yesterday very similar but I think they look so different

I made the pink one first - In the photo it looks more red but its actually bright pink!
I used a lovely 6 x 6 Embossing folder , mounted onto pink cardstock and popped a ribbon on and adhered to a white card base
I die cut a pink center and a plain white circle
Then the fun part I stamped the swirls ( I just adore this stamp ), Sentiment and tiny hearts
which I coloured to match
The flower petals are very easy and you can make them using a small circle die or punch, a couple of folds and there done
I dusted round with pickled rasberry distress ink
Popped them on the card with 3 little gems.

I loved the effect so soon got an idea to make another, made exactly as above but using black cardstock. I used Brusho's on the petals this time , Scarlet, Lime Green with lemon  and Orange
and kept these in clusters of 3's.

Pink and Blue Happy Birthday

Happy Wednesday Everyone
I have been a busy bee making a couple of Birthday cards
One I can't share until next week
but it's a cutie I promise!

If you saw my post yesterday , you will have seen that I used my new little love Brusho's - such cute little pots of coloured magic.

I made a simple card from Blue and Pink cardstock - I love these colours together
Then I brushoed (is that even a word?) up my flower layers
I have only just become addicted , so I havent got the full set...........yet *watch this space*
So that  red colour was the nearest match I had to the pink cardstock
Waited patiently for them to dry .......could not wait too long so finished of with my heat gun
Shaped them up
Glued them together and popped a pretty pearl in the center

Grandma and Felicity get crafty

Last week I had my 6 year old Granddaughter Felicity to stay for a few days
We always have so much fun
We even managed a trip to the beach which she loved
She has always enjoyed crafting and often gets bits to take home with her
But the older she is getting its so much fun when she gets a chair and sits beside me at my craft desk making her own little projects.
I had a little card I needed to make and as we had ,had such a sunny day, my mind was in yellow mode..... Can you tell?

I cut the card on my portrait and once assembled I decided it needed a flower.
So I cut one out and then used Brusho's on it ( I love using them , but am still learning)
Stuck a pearl in the middle  and voila my flower had bloomed.

All finished and sat there admiring my flower when Felicity pipes up *ohhhhh Grandma thats so beautiful*
Well Thank you Felicity , hmmmm I then notice she did'nt mean my card but the negative scrap of paper from where I had spritzed my flower!!

I agreed this was too pretty to throw away . She had previously mentioned she needed bookmarks - this would be perfect . So I cut out a bookmark shape , mounted it onto matching yellow cardstock and Felicity chose some stamps and away she went, I loved the way she only part stamped the butterflies. After the first one I showed her how not to stamp onto Grandma's desk but have some paper underneath hahaha . Once finished I laminated it, used my crop-o-dile for the hole . Added a tassle - A genius little project for her from a scrap of paper, She was utterly as proud as punch and was carrying it around like it was gold and very breakable .
Thank you for looking
