Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside

Hope your all having a good crafty weekend

I have family round later for dinner but managed to nip in a card

I started it last night and finished off this morning

This is my first ever Diorama card and it will definatly not be my last

I loved it from start to finish

I tried one once before the instructions were useless nothing fitted it put me off

but I am glad I re- tried with a different kit

This one is called Summer at the beach it is a A4 booklet with enough in to make 12 cards!

It's pretty difficult to get good photo's but a lot of it is decoupaged up

So clever how it lies flat for posting

I am happy to be here today to share with you a project I made for the Love to Create Mixed Media team.

I have had a little dabble in mixed media and I must admit to loving it so big gal's knickers on I decided to try adding more textures etc

I started out with a thick chipboard tag and used Gesso them some metallic ice blue paint.

I used a little corragated card and painted that metallic Bronze , wasn't sure if was was the right colour for sand but it sort of worked, splashed about a little white paint

I used textured paste and used the stencil

Accents Stencil

I then used Distress Oxide inks and coloured over my tag 

The stamp sets I used are

Tropical Underworld

&

Wish you were here

I also used some cheesecloth on the tag I left it white but the tie I coloured with Distress ink.

I used and painted bits and bobs of little shells, string etc 

Sprinkled on some sequins 

I used a button on the tie

I really enjoyed making this and I am hoping my mixed media is off to another level

Here today for 

Polkadoodles Challenge

*Anything Goes*

For my project this week I have mainly used the lovely collection 
Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles
I have made a Pocket page mini album which was cut on my portrait.
I loved using all the delish papers
this really was a labour of Love but so much fun

All the tags were coloured using Polychromo Pencils

Mounted onto cardstock

and then attached different coloured Organza Swiss dots ribbons ~ you can find these here, from Crafty Ribbons

The inside contains more pictures from the collection along with some quotes

(see more in the moving pictures below)

I finished off adding   a charm and some shells

For the seaweed on the front I used the fantastic Cherry blossom die

What a mixed bag of weather we are having here in the UK

One place there is sun guranteed is at my Summer Chalet!

 I cut the Chalet on my portrait using one of Sandra's great files that you can find here

I added acetate to the front windows.

I cut this in kraft card as due to the size it needed to be nice and sturdy . The roof  I cut in corragated card. The lovely wooden paper used is from  Distressed Wood paper pack  and apart from some ribbon for curtains , I have used the amazing Starfish and Sandcastles collection to decorate.

Spot the little doggie wearing his amazing sun glasses!

 To say I am totally addicted to this collection is an utter understatement , I have another project in the pipeline from Starfish and Sandcastles to share in a few weeks time!

Here is my card that  I am sharing with you today

and this one is called

Mirabelle Pearl

I have used one of Sandra's cut files this one is called Multicard and you can find it here. I cut this on my portrait - what a beautiful shaped card it makes 

I cut it out on cream linen card as I love the classy look and feel it has.

Gave it a quick dusting round with distress ink wild honey 

I coloured her up using lyra pencils and then covered the image with thin netting, If you zoom in you can see it more clearly , I loved this effect.
I also used a smidging of Crystal Glitter on the pearl

I added a lovely strip of satin ribbon with pearls along the bottom

A strip of pearly bling across the top  and a few odd pearls scattered about

The Papers, Fish, Shells, Sentiment etc are all from

Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles collection

Q: Where did the fisherman and mermaid meet?

A: On line! (giggles)
