Door cutting Die Set - Polkadoodles Crafting

There has been lots of excitement in my craft room this week with the arrival of Nikky's lovely brand new dies
Today I am sharing with you a little Christmas card using the lovely
versatile collection

You actually get 4 dies in this set an absolute steal at £5.99
You can literally make so much from this set placing windows where you like, maybe you don't want windows , you could turn them into panels?
I knew in my head the type of door I wanted to create but as I was using the die cuts I could see so much more fun to had with these beauties!
Did you see my blog yesterday ? Where I used the Super Sprigs die?
(find my post here if you missed it)
Well I have used it again on my door card - more about that in a bit.
I matted up a 6x6 card blank with some lovely red card stock cut at 5.5 x 5.5 ( cutting the letterbox and handle in the same)  then using some white hopsack cardstock (new from Papermill Direct = Lush)
I added some vellum for the windows
and using Memento Love Letter ink stamped the number and sentiment
As I wanted the door to open I place a tiny white pearl in the handle center
I added the fun little robin from Twiggy and Toots Festive Fun

Behind the door is a lovely tree from Frosted Winter Collection
And on the door front I have added a little wreath, which has been cut using the
cut onto lovely sparkly card
A few red festive berries using liquid pearls
How cute is that!
Thank you for looking

Super Sprigs - Polkadoodles Crafting

Happy Wednesday If you saw my post yesterday you will have seen that I am playing with the lovely new dies from Polkadoodles
Today I am here to show you
I actually can't belive the price of this die £3.49

I adore this die and I  know it will be used tons and in lots of different way
I decided on a little card
I teamed it up with part of yesterdays die cut set that I showed
Bubbleicious take a looksie here if you missed it
I used the negative from the oval die in Bubbleicious to make my card front

This is a 5x5  white card blank , I then cut some lemon cardstock at 4.5 and a piece of white at 4.75
adhered them altogether leaving a little space where my sprigs would lay
A liitle stamped sentiment stamped in Memento bamboo leaves
Added my sprigs and three little lemon pearls.

I was now left with the beautiful oval, so I decided on a matching tag
Adding the beautiful sprigs, again 3 tiny lemon pearls
Popped on a grommit and added a small piece of lemon ribbon

Thank you for looking

Bubbleicious Dies - Polkadoodles Crafting

Wowser was I in for a treat
Our lovely Nikky from Polkadoodles has just started a new range of dies
belive me when I say you really, really need to check them out
Yesterday my parcel came through from Nikky, to say I am excited is an understament
You will see lots more from me using the dies in the coming weeks
so keep your eyes tightly peeled.
The first thing I noticed was the lush packaging on the dies simply elegant
also if you look on the website there are ideas on how they could be used  a little differently
I love this!
(a cherryblossom die becomes seaweed, who would have thought eh?)
You can find the range of dies
After stroking the packs of dies endlessly , I decided my first project would be a card using the Bubbleicious set - 5 dies in this set

Out came my big shot that is old and ancient , everything cutting through first time I could not belive!! I have a vast range of different dies that often need going through several times and even then the weeding takes normally takes forever, these were simply a gentle tap . I did use my metal shim

So there we are , my one card became 4 - Obviously I have made them using different coloured card/inks  but also changing where I placed the biggest die, endless possibilities.
To give you a good idea I used 6 x 6 card blanks
The oval die was adhered with foam pads
and I used distress Inks -
Milled Lavender, Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar & Tumbled Glass on flowers and leafs
Adding a little ribbon to two of the cards and finished with some little coloured pearls

For those that know me, know I am not a CAS person but I really wanted to show you the beauty of these dies
Ohhhh and before I go , here is a quick pic of my negative scraps , the flower cuts were far to pretty to bin , so a sprinkling of brusho's and a splash of water . I am sure it will become a feature on a future project!

Star Hanger - Polkadoodles Crafting

I am just adoring making Christmas Crafts this year
This wonderful new collection is an absolute must have

This time I have made a star hanger
It was cut on my portrait
and you can find the file at Sandra's right here ( I shop here loads if your a follower you probably would of realised that - I love all of her files)
Now this one came as a star card but since we were trying to steer away from the card route I made it into a hanging star using a slice of matching ribbon
I decorated using the wonderful new collection
that paper is lush!
Don't ask me why I added feathers, but they were pretty and white and they seemed to work
** Scatty tip for you - Do not use feathers when its boiling hot and you have your fan going**

Anything Goes - Polkadoodle Crafting

Happy Friday Everyone!
Here today for
*Anything Goes*
Using one of my favourite ever collections
 Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles
I have made a little (large) gift shop , stocked full of lovely seaside tat treasures. The Brick paper is from
Work & Play 2
and the wooden paper is from the
Distressed Wood paper collection

The team followed the theme of *Oh I do like to be beside the sea side * We don't live that far from the seaside so when our Granddaughter comes to stay we often visit and although she loves the sea and playing on the sand we often leave Grandad with his ice cream and hit the shops and we buy all sorts of rubbish that we will never use haha but her utter most favourite is shells we have spent a good few hours this year hunting the shops for shells and we have brought some beautys!

The shop was cut on my portrait using one of Sandra's lovely files that you can find here
Once I got going I found it pretty easy to put together
The table also from Sandra's that I altered slightly to fit can be found here

Once inside you find shop keeper Winnie selling an array of seaside treasures
Downstairs curtains were a snip of lace with some very thin nautical coloured ribbon and upstairs lace again with some stripey ribbon
So if your in need of sun glasses , sun cream maybe a camera or a beach ball or bag be sure to stop by Little Miss Crabbypants Boutique

To construct the hangers on the wall to hold clothing etc I simply used straws
My bucket to hold the umbrella's etc was a mouthwash lid
and several satsumas were consumed for the orange netting

Thank you for stopping by

Home For Christmas

What an absolutly stunning set arrived this month with my Simply Cards & Papercraft.
I adore Christmas and couldn't wait to play
How spoilt were we, embossing folder , stamps and dies!!
To start I used a white A5 centre- stepper card blank.
I covered it in a Christmas red paper leaving a slight border of white showing through.
I die cut the door three times, once in red , twice in white. I wanted the door to stand off the page so used sticky foam tabs to adhere and cut the panels from the red door and adhered with glue

Using Memento ink lady bug I stamped the number, knocker , letterbox and sentiment.
I stamped the lights with Memento black ink and coloured using watercolour paints.
The wreath was again die cut twice to give some depth
The holly leaves were die cut and watercoloured . Once dried I added some ruby red liquid pearls.
I stamped the pots (twice )using Memento gray fog and the plants with Memento bamboo leaf adding again liquid pearls and adhered with foam tabs.
The bows were stamped using lady bug and bamboo leaf dabbed over with glossy accents for shine.
I had tons of fun making this card
And can see a fair few of these being made
Thank you for looking
